The simplest route is a Tremhost school plan: one yearly fee covers the website, hosting, staff email, SSL and Cloudflare, and we design and update the site, from $299.99 a year. If you'd rather build it yourself, register the domain in the school's name, order web hosting and create staff mailboxes in cPanel.
Option 1: a school plan, built and run by us
| Plan | Suits | Pages | Staff email accounts | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter School | Creches, day cares and small private schools | 5 | 5 | $299.99 a year |
| Growth School | Primary schools and growing high schools | 10 to 15 | 15 | $699.99 a year |
| Advanced School | Large high schools and colleges | 20+ | 50 | $999.99 a year |
| Elite Education | Premium colleges and leading private schools | Unlimited | Unlimited | $2,999.99 a year |
We make the updates: two rounds of edits a term on Starter, and monthly maintenance on Growth and above. Advanced adds an online admissions form; Elite Education adds online payments, a parent and student portal and e-learning integration. School plans are billed yearly, so the cost fits one budget line. Details: school websites.
Option 2: build it yourself
- Register the domain in the school's name, not a teacher's or a designer's. A .co.zw is $6.99 a year and needs only the school's accurate details. A .ac.zw, for academic institutions, is $15 a year and needs a signed letter on the school's letterhead: see other .zw domains.
- Order web hosting. Bvumba, at $50 a year, suits most school sites and includes unlimited mailboxes.
- Build the site with WordPress (guide). Put term dates, fees, admissions, the calendar and contact details where a parent on a phone finds them in one tap.
- Create staff mailboxes in cPanel under Email → Email Accounts (guide). Add role addresses such as admissions@, bursar@ and head@ that pass from one person to the next.
- Set up staff devices: phones and Outlook.
- Keep your own copy. We back up daily, but download a backup at the end of each term (guide).
Tip: Keep the client-area login with the school office, such as the bursar or the head, not one teacher. When staff leave, the school keeps its domain, website and email.
- We only need email, for a large staff.
- Business email Supreme covers up to 1,000 people for $15 a month and is built for schools and institutions.
- Can the school pay against a quotation?
- Yes. Schools get a written quotation, a US-dollar invoice addressed to the school and a receipt for the auditors.
