We already take daily backups of shared hosting. To keep your own copy, download a backup from cPanel’s Backup page.
Shared hosting and managed plans are backed up daily by us. A copy you keep yourself is still wise before big changes, such as a redesign or a plugin update.
- In cPanel, open Files → Backup.
- For a complete copy, click Download a Full Account Backup, choose Home Directory as the destination, and click Generate Backup. You get an email when it is ready to download.
- For just the website files or one database, use the Partial Backups links on the same page.
Tip: Full backups count towards your disk space until you download and delete them from the home directory.
