Search for the name on our Domains page, order it ($6.99 a year to register and to renew) and give the owner's name, address, email address and phone number. No letter or ID copy is needed, and we usually register it within 1–2 hours in office hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 CAT).
Tremhost is a ZISPA member registrar, so we register .co.zw domains ourselves. ZISPA administers .co.zw.
- Check the name is free. Search on Domains or in the client area. Searching doesn't hold the name, so order once you've chosen.
- Order it in the real owner's name. That is your business, school, church or club, or you as a person. The real owner must be the registrant: a web designer or consultant shouldn't register a client's domain in their own name.
- Choose the nameservers. You pick or enter them when you order. If your website and email will be with us, use ours (which nameservers?). If they are hosted elsewhere, enter that host's nameservers.
- Give the owner's details. We need the owner's name, physical address, email address and phone number, and they must be accurate. Enter them during the order, or send them to us on WhatsApp (+263 73 563 9917) or in a support ticket. Give a full street address, not just a town.
- Pay the invoice in US dollars with any of our payment methods.
- We register it, usually within 1–2 hours in office hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 CAT). See How long does a .co.zw domain take to go live?
- Put it to work. Create your email addresses and install WordPress or upload your site.
Tip: Get the owner right first time. Changing the owner later needs the new owner's details and the current owner's confirmation: see How do I change the owner of a .co.zw domain?
- Can I register a .co.zw as an individual?
- Yes. Give your own name, physical address, email address and phone number. No ID copy is needed.
- Do I need hosting at the same time?
- No. You can register just the domain and add hosting or email later. If you're not sure which nameservers to choose, ask us on WhatsApp before you order.
- Do .org.zw and .ac.zw work the same way?
- They cost $15 a year and also need a signed letter on the organisation's letterhead: see other .zw domains.
