If most of your customers are in Zimbabwe, use .co.zw: it tells people and search engines you are local, and at $6.99 a year it costs less than a .com. If you sell abroad, or plan to, register the .com as well and point it at the same site.

Which one to choose
- Customers mostly in Zimbabwe (shops, clinics, schools, local services): .co.zw.
- Customers abroad (exports, tourism, online services): .com, with the .co.zw as a second name.
- Not sure, or protecting your brand: register both, use one as your main address and redirect the other to it.
NGOs can use .org.zw and academic institutions .ac.zw, at $15 a year with a signed letter on the organisation's letterhead: see other .zw domains.
Using both
- Check both names are free: How do I check if a domain is available?
- Register them on one account, in your business's name, with accurate owner details (what you need). We usually register a .co.zw within 1–2 hours in office hours.
- Pick one as the main address for your website and email, and print only that one on cards, invoices and signage.
- Send the other to it with a permanent (301) redirect: How do I redirect a page or domain?
Tip: Choose one domain for email and keep it. Changing email addresses later means reprinting stationery and telling every customer.
- Can a person register a .co.zw, or only a company?
- Both. We need the owner's name, physical address, email address and phone number, with no letter or ID copy. Schools, clubs and churches are registered in the organisation's name.
- Can I move from .co.zw to .com later?
- Yes: register the .com and redirect. Keep renewing the old .co.zw so links and old email addresses still reach you.
