In WHM, open Account Functions → Upgrade/Downgrade an Account, select the client's account, choose the new package and confirm. The new limits apply straight away, and the client's files and email stay as they are.
- Log in to WHM (see How do I log in to WHM?).
- Open Account Functions → Upgrade/Downgrade an Account.
- Select the account by domain or username and continue.
- Choose the new package and confirm. WHM shows the limits that changed.
- Tell the client, and update what you bill them so the price matches the new package.
Tip: Before you downgrade, check the account's disk use under Account Information → List Accounts. If the client already uses more than the new package allows, they will not be able to save new files and may stop receiving email until they clear space.
If you bill with WHMCS
Make the change in WHMCS instead, so the invoice and the account stay in step. Your client can do it from their own client area with the service's upgrade option. Or, in WHMCS admin, open the client's service, change the product and save, then click the Change Package module button. WHMCS then tells WHM to switch the package.
One account, or everyone on a plan?
Editing a package under Packages → Edit a Package changes the limits for every account on that package. To give one client more, make a new package (for example Business Plus) and move just that account to it.
Running out of room yourself?
Every package draws on your reseller plan's storage and bandwidth. If your clients need more than your plan has, upgrade your plan from the client area. You pay the difference for the rest of the billing period, and nothing moves.
