Open phpMyAdmin in cPanel, choose the database, and use the Import or Export tab.
Export (backup)
- In cPanel, open Databases → phpMyAdmin.
- Click the database name on the left, then Export.
- Keep Quick and SQL selected and click Export. A .sql file downloads.
Import
- Create an empty database first (see How do I create a MySQL database?).
- In phpMyAdmin, click the new database, then Import.
- Choose the .sql file (or .sql.zip / .sql.gz) and click Import.
Tip: Very large databases can time out in the browser. Send us the file through a ticket and we will import it for you.
