How do I add my business email to the Gmail app?

In the Gmail app, tap your profile picture, then Add another account and Other. Enter your full business email address, choose Personal (IMAP), and use the server settings from cPanel's Connect Devices page.

Get your settings first

In cPanel, open Email → Email Accounts and click Connect Devices next to the mailbox. Keep that page open: it lists the exact server names and ports for your account. If someone else runs your email, ask them for these details.

Add the account

  1. Open the Gmail app, tap your profile picture (top right) and choose Add another account.
  2. Choose Other.
  3. Type your full email address. When asked for the account type, choose Personal (IMAP), then enter the mailbox password.
  4. Incoming server settings: username is your full email address, server as shown in Connect Devices, port 993, security SSL/TLS.
  5. Outgoing server settings: same server name, port 465, security SSL/TLS, with sign-in required, using the same username and password.
  6. Choose how often to check for mail, give the account a name (it appears on mail you send) and tap Next.

On an iPhone, the Gmail app asks the same questions. Apple’s own Mail app works too: see How do I set up my email on an Android phone or iPhone?

On mobile data, a longer check interval saves data and battery. Mail still arrives; you just see it a little later.

The app says my password is wrong.
Make sure the username is the full email address, then test the password in webmail. If it fails there too, set a new one.
I get a certificate or security warning.
Use exactly the server name shown in Connect Devices, rather than accepting the warning.
Does this move my mail into my Gmail account?
No. The app shows your business mailbox next to your Gmail inbox; the mail stays on our server.
