To cancel, open the service under Services in the client area and request cancellation. To claim the 30-day money-back on your first order, open a billing ticket within 30 days of your first payment.
The 30-day money-back
If this is your first order with Tremhost, you can cancel web hosting, managed WordPress, business email or reseller hosting within 30 days of the first payment for a full refund of the plan fee. Domains, SSL certificates, licences, setup fees, paid migrations and renewals are not refundable. The full wording is in our Terms.
- Within the 30 days, open a support ticket and choose the billing department.
- Pick the service, and say you are claiming the 30-day money-back. Include the invoice number.
- Billing replies in the ticket. Before the service is closed, download anything you want to keep.
Other services, such as VPS, dedicated servers, security plans and web design, are not covered by the 30-day money-back. If something is wrong with one of them, tell us on WhatsApp before you cancel: it may be something we can fix.
Cancel a service
- Back up first. Download a copy of your website and email (see How do I back up my website?). Once a service is removed, its files, databases and mailboxes go with it.
- Sign in to the client area, open Services and click the service.
- Choose Request Cancellation.
- Choose when: End of Billing Period keeps the service running until the time you have paid for ends; Immediate stops it now.
- Add a short reason and submit. If a renewal invoice for the service is already open, give its number in a ticket so billing can deal with it.
Tip: Renewals are not refundable. If you do not want a service to renew, cancel it before the renewal invoice is due.
Domains
A domain is not cancelled; it simply expires if it is not renewed. To stop it renewing, open Domains, click the domain and switch off Auto Renew. When it expires, any website and email on it stop working (see What happens when my domain expires?). Moving the domain elsewhere instead? Get its EPP code first.
