Why are my emails going to spam?

Usually because the domain’s SPF, DKIM or DMARC records are missing or wrong. cPanel can check and repair them in one click.

  1. In cPanel, open Email → Email Deliverability.
  2. Look for domains marked with a problem. Click Repair for SPF and DKIM.
  3. If your domain’s DNS is managed elsewhere (not with Tremhost), cPanel shows the exact records to add. Copy them to your DNS provider.
  4. Add a DMARC record too. A safe start is v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected], then tighten it once mail is flowing correctly.

Other common causes

  • Sending the same message to many people at once from a normal mailbox. Use a mailing service for newsletters.
  • A hacked mailbox or website sending spam, which damages the server’s reputation. Change passwords and tell us.
  • Subject lines and content that look like spam: all capitals, lots of links, attachments from unknown senders.

For invoice fraud and phishing coming in, see Armor Mail.
