Johannesburg. It is the closest of Tremhost's five data centres to Zimbabwe and usually the fastest for Zimbabwean visitors. Tremhost has no data centre in Zimbabwe; you choose Johannesburg when you order a VPS, managed cPanel VPS, dedicated server or reseller pool.

What about web hosting and email?
Web hosting and business email plans run on our shared servers in Europe and the USA (the Nyangani plan is in Roubaix, France). If you need a particular location for a shared plan, ask us before ordering and we'll tell you what we can do. For a guaranteed location, choose a VPS or dedicated server.
Faster for Zimbabwean visitors, wherever the server is
- Put Cloudflare in front of the site with Armor Guard, so static content such as images is served from the nearest Cloudflare city.
- Shrink images before you upload them. Many visitors pay for every megabyte of mobile data, and lighter pages load faster on slow connections.
- On WordPress, use a caching plugin such as LiteSpeed Cache: our hosting runs on the LiteSpeed web server.
Tip: Test your site with PageSpeed Insights before and after each change, so you know what actually helped.
- Where is my data stored if I choose Johannesburg?
- In South Africa. Limburg and Roubaix keep data in the European Union, and New York and Miami in the United States.
- Can I have servers in more than one location?
- Yes. One account can hold servers in several locations; ask us about failover between two.
