How we really bill and take payment
| The real thing | |
|---|---|
| Currency | US dollars. The client area can show ZAR for reference only. |
| Prices | As on our pricing page. Renewals are at the price you signed up at. |
| Online payment | Chosen on the invoice: Paynow (Visa, Mastercard, EcoCash, InnBucks, O’mari, ZimSwitch), crypto through Plisio (Bitcoin, Tron, Litecoin), or Stripe for cards. Mobile money is approved on your own phone, in your wallet or app, after you choose it on the invoice. |
| Bank transfer | Choose Bank Transfer (USD) on the invoice and follow the instructions shown. Send proof of payment to billing on WhatsApp with the invoice number. |
| Cash | At our billing office: Office 3, Mezzanine Floor, Batanai Gardens, corner of First Street and Jason Moyo Avenue, Harare, in office hours. Bring the invoice number and ask for a receipt. |
| Contacts | Billing WhatsApp +263 78 596 0376, sales and support WhatsApp +263 73 563 9917, and support tickets. |
Warning signs
- A request to pay a personal EcoCash or bank account, through a payment service not listed above, or in airtime or vouchers.
- “Our bank details have changed”, or a new account number in what looks like an old email thread.
- A price, plan or domain you don’t recognise, or a renewal far above what you paid last time.
- Pressure to pay within hours or lose your website, often for a domain that isn’t due. Your real expiry dates are under Domains in the client area.
- A web address that is close to ours but not ours, or a login page you reached from a link. Check the address bar before you type a password.
- Requests for your password, PIN or one-time code. Enter your EcoCash PIN only on the prompt on your own phone. Passwords never belong in a ticket either: if we need access, we ask for it through the client area.
Already paid a fake invoice?
- Contact your bank or mobile-money provider straight away and ask them to stop or reverse the payment.
- Tell billing on WhatsApp, with a screenshot of the message.
- If you typed a password into a fake page, change it now, starting with the client area and your email: see My email account has been hacked.
Tip: Fake invoices also arrive pretending to be your suppliers. Armor Mail, from $12 a month for ten mailboxes, holds lookalike senders and “new bank details” messages before your staff act on them.
