VPS reselling means buying a pool of server resources (CPU cores, RAM, storage and IP addresses) from a provider, dividing it into virtual private servers for your own customers, and selling them under your brand at your own prices. It suits developers, agencies and IT companies whose customers need their own servers with root access, rather than shared hosting. At Tremhost, VPS reseller pools start at $45 a month for three VMs, with a free IPv4 address per VM, white-label control panel, backups and DDoS protection included.
How VPS reselling works
- You buy a pool. The provider allocates a fixed number of cores, RAM, storage, bandwidth and virtual machines to your account.
- You create VMs. You split the pool into servers of the sizes your customers need. You do not have to split it evenly.
- Your customers manage their servers in a control panel carrying your brand, where they can reboot, reinstall and see usage.
- You bill them at your own prices, often through billing software such as WHMCS that creates the VM automatically when an order is paid.
- The provider runs the hardware, virtualisation, network, storage and data centres.
VPS reselling versus cPanel reseller hosting
- cPanel reseller hosting sells shared hosting accounts. Each customer gets a cPanel account for websites and email on a shared server. It suits web designers hosting small business sites. See Tremhost cPanel reseller hosting.
- VPS reselling sells whole virtual servers. Each customer gets their own operating system, allocated resources and root access. It suits customers running applications, custom software, development environments or larger sites.
Many hosting businesses offer both: shared hosting for brochure sites and VPS for customers who outgrow it.
Who VPS reselling suits
- Software developers and agencies deploying applications for clients who want a dedicated environment.
- IT support companies already managing servers for businesses, who want to host them under their own brand.
- Existing hosting resellers whose customers need more than a cPanel account.
- Niche providers serving, for example, schools or accounting firms that run particular software.
It suits people less well if they are not comfortable supporting Linux servers. Customers on an unmanaged VPS will still come to you when something breaks.

Who looks after what
- You: your brand and prices, creating and sizing each VM, and supporting your customers.
- Tremhost: the white-label control panel and WHMCS module, KVM hosts, NVMe storage, backups, IPv4 addresses, DDoS protection and the network.
Working out your margin
Monthly profit = (number of VMs × your price per VM) − pool cost − other costs.
Here is an illustration, not a forecast. Suppose you sell four VMs from VPS Reseller 2: two at 2 cores, 8 GB RAM and 40 GB for $45 each, one at 4 cores, 8 GB and 60 GB for $60, and one at 2 cores, 4 GB and 40 GB for $35. Revenue is $185 a month. The pool costs $75, leaving $110 before your other costs. Those other costs include payment fees, your time, the support you give customers and any software they need, such as control panel licences.
Price for the support you will give. A customer with root access can break their own server, and they will expect you to help.
Running a VPS reselling business well
- Define what you support. Unmanaged, managed, or a paid support add-on. Write it down and publish it.
- Offer standard sizes so customers can choose quickly, and keep some pool capacity free for upgrades.
- Automate billing and provisioning so VMs are created on payment and suspended on non-payment.
- Set a security baseline: SSH keys, a firewall and automatic security updates on the templates you deploy.
- Explain backups clearly, including what is backed up and how a restore is requested.
Tremhost support for resellers is by ticket, WhatsApp on +263 73 563 9917 or a booked call, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 CAT. The Tremhost SLA sets a 99.9% monthly availability target for servers.
Frequently asked questions
Do my customers see the Tremhost name?
No. The control panel is white label, so customers see your brand and your prices.
What if a customer wants a managed server with cPanel?
A managed cPanel VPS from $80 a month, run by Tremhost technicians, may suit them better than an unmanaged VM.
Is VPS reselling cheaper than buying VPS one by one?
Often. Tremhost’s own calculator shows four VMs that would cost $100 a month as separate KVM 4 plans fitting into VPS Reseller 2 at $75. Compare against your actual sizes.
How do I pay?
In US dollars by EcoCash, InnBucks, ZimSwitch, Omari, Visa, Mastercard, Bitcoin, Tron or Litecoin.
