The best reseller hosting for agencies is the plan that lets you sell hosting under your own brand without running servers: full white label, enough cPanel accounts and storage for your clients, billing automation such as WHMCS, free migrations, daily backups, and a renewal price you can build margins on. There is no single winner for every agency, so compare providers on the criteria below using their own pricing pages.
This is Tremhost’s own blog, and Tremhost is one of the providers listed.
What is reseller hosting, and why do agencies use it?
Reseller hosting gives you WHM, the administration panel for a cPanel server, so you can create a separate cPanel account for each client, set your own packages and prices, and present the service under your agency’s name. The provider runs the hardware, operating system and core software. For a fuller explanation, see what is reseller hosting.
Agencies use it because clients want one supplier for the website, hosting and email. Hosting turns a one-off build into recurring revenue, and care plans built on top of it (updates, backups, small edits) add more.
What makes reseller hosting good for agencies?
True white label
What to check: private nameservers on your own domain (ns1.youragency.com), branded control panel URLs, and whether the provider’s name appears anywhere clients can see it. Why: if clients can see your supplier, some will go to them directly.
Billing automation
What to check: whether WHMCS or a similar billing system is included, on which plans, and how many clients the included licence covers. Why: automated invoicing, account creation and suspension for non-payment save hours every month once you pass a handful of clients. If it is not included, add its monthly cost to the plan price.
Account limits and resources
What to check: the number of cPanel accounts allowed, total storage, monthly bandwidth and per-account limits. Why: some plans cap accounts, others cap only storage and bandwidth. A cap of 25 accounts can be reached long before you run out of disk space.
Performance and isolation
What to check: the web server (LiteSpeed or Apache), storage type (NVMe or SATA SSD) and account isolation such as CloudLinux. Why: one client’s traffic spike or runaway script should not slow every other site you host.
Security and backups
What to check: malware scanning and clean-up, a server firewall, free SSL for every client domain, and how often backups run and who restores them. Why: when a client’s site is hacked, they call you, not the provider.
Migrations
What to check: whether the provider moves cPanel accounts from your current host for free, and whether sites stay live until the switch. Why: moving 20 or 30 client sites yourself is where agency projects stall.
Renewal pricing and terms
What to check: the price for the term you will actually pay, the renewal price, and the refund period. Why: a plan that doubles at renewal can wipe out the margin you priced into client contracts.
Support, SLA and payment
What to check: support hours and channels in your time zone, a written availability target, and payment methods that will not fail at renewal. Why: you are the first line of support for your clients, so you need answers quickly when something is wrong at server level.
A shortlist to compare (alphabetical)
This is not a ranking. Facts for other providers come from their own pages; check them again before you buy, as plans change.
InMotion Hosting
InMotion’s reseller hosting page, as listed on 5 November 2026, shows four plans, R-1000N to R-4000N, allowing 25, 50, 80 and 100 cPanel accounts with 80 GB to 300 GB of storage. A WHMCS Starter licence for up to 250 clients is included, white label with custom nameservers is supported, and US or EU locations are offered. Starting prices vary by term and renew higher; for example, R-1000N is listed as renewing at $35.99 a month.
Namecheap
Namecheap’s reseller package comparison, as listed on 5 November 2026, shows Nebula (25 cPanel accounts, 30 GB), Galaxy Expert (100 accounts, 90 GB) and Universe Pro (150 accounts, 150 GB). WHMCS is licensed separately, from $8 a month for the Starter licence. Check Namecheap’s hosting pages for current plan prices, which that comparison page does not list.
Tremhost
Tremhost’s reseller hosting has nine plans from $7 to $60 a month, all with unlimited cPanel accounts, WHM, white label, LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, Imunify360, NVMe storage and free SSL, so the limits are storage and bandwidth rather than account numbers. Reseller 1 is $7 a month (25 GB NVMe, 250 GB bandwidth); Reseller 4 is $12 a month or $108 a year (60 GB, 800 GB); Reseller 9 is $60 a month (1.2 TB, 20 TB). According to the reseller page, WHMCS is included free from Reseller 6 ($25 a month, 200 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth) and is a paid add-on on smaller plans. There is no introductory pricing, so plans renew at the sign-up price, with a 30-day refund on the first reseller order.
Tremhost offers free cPanel-to-cPanel migration, typically within 24 hours, with sites live until the switch. Payment is in US dollars by EcoCash, InnBucks, ZimSwitch, Omari, Visa, Mastercard or cryptocurrency, which helps agencies in Zimbabwe that cannot rely on international card payments. Plans carry the 99.9% monthly availability target in the Tremhost SLA. Support is by ticket, WhatsApp or booked call, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 CAT, not 24/7.
Which reseller plan fits your situation?
- You have fewer than 10 clients and a tight budget: start on a small plan and confirm you can move up without a migration.
- You want billing automated from day one: choose a plan where WHMCS is included, or add its monthly licence cost when comparing.
- You expect many small sites: favour plans without a cap on cPanel accounts.
- Your clients are mainly in Zimbabwe: weigh local payment methods, support hours in CAT and USD pricing that does not change at renewal.
- You need root access or custom software: a reseller plan is the wrong product; look at a managed cPanel VPS instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need WHMCS to run a reseller business?
No. You can invoice clients manually at first. WHMCS becomes worthwhile when manual invoicing, account creation and suspensions start taking real time each month.
Can my clients see who the real host is?
With a white-label plan and private nameservers, clients see your brand in the control panel and nameservers. Check that the provider’s name does not appear in server hostnames or system emails.
How much should I charge clients for hosting?
Work out the plan cost per client, add the time you spend on support and updates, then add your margin. Many agencies bundle hosting into a monthly care plan rather than selling it on its own.
Is reseller hosting the same as a VPS?
No. A reseller account shares a managed server with other resellers and gives you WHM, not root. A VPS gives you your own server and full control, but you or your provider must run it.
Next step
List your current clients with their storage and bandwidth, then price each provider’s plan for the term you will actually pay, including renewal and any WHMCS cost. If Tremhost fits, compare the nine plans on the Tremhost reseller hosting page and ask for free migration of your existing client accounts.
