Plesk Web Host Edition is the top Plesk edition, built for running a hosting business: it allows unlimited domains and adds reseller, customer and subscription management. Tremhost supplies a shared Plesk Web Host Edition licence from $5 a month for a VPS or $6 for a dedicated server, with unlimited accounts and official updates, but without official Plesk support. This guide explains what the edition does, how it compares with the smaller editions, and what the Tremhost licence does and does not include.
What Plesk is
Plesk is a web hosting control panel for Linux and Windows servers. From one interface you can manage websites, domains, email, databases, DNS, SSL certificates, backups and security, and run applications in PHP, Node.js, Python and other languages. Its WP Toolkit manages WordPress installations, including cloning, staging, updates and security checks.
The three Plesk editions
According to Plesk’s own guide, Which Plesk Edition Fits Your Hosting Business? (plesk.com, 2026):
- Web Admin Edition: up to 10 domains, with a limited version of WP Toolkit and no reseller or customer management. It suits a business managing its own few sites.
- Web Pro Edition: up to 30 domains, with the full WP Toolkit and bulk automation for WordPress. It suits agencies and freelancers managing client sites themselves.
- Web Host Edition: unlimited domains, with built-in reseller, subscription and account management, including sub-accounts, permissions and client self-service.
Plesk also notes that you can move between editions when your needs change.
Who needs Web Host Edition
- Hosting providers and resellers who sell hosting plans to customers and need each customer to log in to their own account.
- Agencies with many client sites who want to give clients limited access to their own subscriptions.
- Organisations running more than 30 domains on one server.
If you only manage a handful of your own sites, a smaller edition may be enough. If you sell hosting, the customer and reseller management in Web Host Edition is what makes the panel work as a business tool.

What “shared licence” means here
These are shared licences supplied by Tremhost that receive official vendor updates. They are not licences issued by Plesk directly to you. The order terms on tremhost.com state that:
- Support from Plesk itself is not available, and your IP address will not be recognised by Plesk as holding a valid licence. Technical help comes from Tremhost.
- Licences are digital goods, and all sales are final and non-refundable.
If you need a licence that Plesk can verify, for example because a contract or auditor requires it, or you want to use Plesk’s own support desk, buy directly from Plesk or an authorised Plesk partner instead.
Setting up Plesk well
- Start with a clean, supported operating system. Plesk publishes a list of supported Linux distributions and Windows Server versions. Check it before installing.
- Order the licence with your server’s IP address, then install Plesk or ask Tremhost to install it.
- Secure the panel: enable two-factor authentication for administrators, keep the firewall on and restrict SSH access.
- Configure backups to remote storage, not only the server’s own disk, and test a restore.
- Create service plans that match what you sell, with sensible limits for disk space, mailboxes and databases.
- Turn on automatic updates so Plesk and its components receive security fixes promptly.
Need a server too?
Plesk licences run on a server you control. Tremhost KVM VPS plans start at $15 a month with dedicated cores, NVMe storage and full root access, in Johannesburg, New York, Miami, Limburg or Roubaix. Other licences, such as CloudLinux, Imunify360, LiteSpeed and JetBackup, are listed on the Tremhost licences page.
Support is by ticket, WhatsApp on +263 73 563 9917 or a booked call, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 CAT. Prices are payable by EcoCash, InnBucks, ZimSwitch, Omari, Visa, Mastercard, Bitcoin, Tron or Litecoin.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Plesk VPS licence on a dedicated server?
No. Choose the dedicated licence or dedicated bundle for physical servers.
Is Plesk better than cPanel?
Neither is better for everyone. Plesk runs on Linux and Windows and has one interface for administrators and site owners; cPanel and WHM run on Linux and are widespread in shared and reseller hosting. Choose the one your team and customers know.
Which billing term is cheapest?
Longer terms cost less per month: the three-year VPS term works out at about $2.42 a month against $5 paid monthly. Bear in mind licences are non-refundable.
Can I change the server IP later?
The Plesk licence listing says you can change the IP from the client area.
