One of the most stressing issue for internet users is which service provider to use based on relative cheapness and speed among other reasons. Its more tasking because we usually don’t have enough information concerning these providers s often times we end up choosing a provider that will not meet our needs or make our browsing interesting.Well here i have a few tips that might just help us choose the bets service provider for the month of September.
So firstly to those of us who would want to buy monthly data for any of the three mentioned service providers, here are some facts to consider. For Netone, monthly data prices range from $150 to $2500 per month offering 200MB to 8GB data for those prices. Now to break it down further, the individual monthly packages offered by Netone include $150/200MB, $300/450MB, $800/1,5GB, $1400/3,5GB, $2000/5GB and $2500/8GB. These values broken down to unit price per 1MB or GB would then range at $0,75/MB, $0,67/MB, $533/GB, $400/GB and $312,50/GB. So this sums up the rough analysis of the Netone monthly data bundle package. So for Netone users, it is quite easier to buy the $300 bundle package or the $2500 bundle package considering cost price per 1 MB or 1GB because it relatively cheaper than the other three packages whose cost price per 1MB/GB.

Moving on to Econet, one of the most widely used service provider in the country. Well the packages for this service provider are as follows as per 01 September 2020, $67/100MB $180/270MB,$320/500MB, $424/700MB, $800/1,4GB. Breaking these figures down to cost per 1MB/GB would then give us these range of values: $0,67/1MB, $0.67/1MB, $0.64/1MB, $0.61/1MB and $571/1GB. Looking at these figures it is clear that the range of values for their monthly package has a very small difference so it can be quite difficult to choose which package to use for Econet. However, looking closely at these figures we can notice that even that small difference counts thus we can actually opt for $424/700MB data package given the cost per 1MB analysis shown above as it is clear that this is actually the cheapest package on offer.
Finally let us look at the analysis on Telecel as a service provider. Its data packages as at 01 September 2020 stand as follows: $100/220MB, $200/600MB, $285/960MB, $350/1,76GB, $650/3,6GB and $750/4,5GB.Breaking these figures down to cost per 1MB/GB, one would get the following figures respectively: $0,45/MB; $0,33/MB; $0,30/MB; $198,86/GB; $180,56/GB and $166,67/GB. Judging with the given figures from analysis done it is also clear that like all other service providers the package that appears to be the cheapest is actually the most expensive if one considers cost per MB/GB thus here also the cheapest would be the $285/960MB data package.
image showing efficient connectivity
The above analysis has shown that for most of our data packages the one that appears to be the cheapest is actually the most expensive, so this analysis would actually recommend we use the packages that are either at the far end or in the middle. Now for a comparison of the three service providers, in terms of cost price, I would recommend that users use Telecel as it is actually the cheapest service provider of the three used in this research. However in terms of speed and efficiency comparing between Econet and Netone i would recommend Econet as its speed ranges at 9mb/sec as compared to 2mb/sec for Netone.
Therefore for cheap access to internet this month of September, Telecel is the best recommended service provider and for quick efficient use of internet, Econet is the way to go.

A goal is an aim or result that one is attempting to achieve.Having goals will prevent a person from exhausting his energy and getting nowhere.Usually having goals will prevent people from feeling like they are their own worst enemies.
How To Make Successful Goals
1.Identify
Brainstorm Potential Goals
Write down whatever goal that comes into your mind.Even if the goals seem ridiculous just write them down.Do not try to evaluate at this stage.Do not give yourself a limit on the number of your goals. This stage must be enjoyable,so write down even the seemingly silliest small goals that comes into your mind.Remember that at this stage they do not have to be in order of importance.
Evaluate
It takes time and a calm person to be able to carefully examine the goals. So make sure when you are evaluating you are in no hurry and go through each of them slowly.Identify which ones are more challenging to carry out. Also take note of those that require long periods of time to be completed(be careful not to underestimate the time periods). Set a time limit for each goal for without it it will be easy for you to loose focus on the goals. The goals must be specific. At this stage, know exactly what you are to do to be able to reach your set goals.
Prioritize
At this stage you are supposed to arrange them in the order of importance.Or you can rank them in the order in which you would like to to achieve them.Remember that the best goals on your list are the most important to you.An example of goals one can set:
family- at what age you want to become a parent, how many children you are going to have
health-which exercise you want to start on and for how long
career-your dream job and the level you want to reach before retiring
financial-how much and how you would like to spent at a certain stage
2.Plan
a plan book
For each and every goal that you have written,do the following;
List Your Goals
Each goal must be written on a fresh and at the top of a page in bold and/ or capital letters. You can highlight using a bright color. The idea is for it o be eye catching when you open the page. Set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound) goals that motivate you and write them down to make them feel tangible.https://www.mindtools.com/page6.html.
Set A Time Limit
Make sure to put a deadline at each and every goal for in that way,you can be able to assess how far you are from reaching your goal.It will also push you to keep acting on them.A goal without a deadline can never be a goal, it will only be but a pointless wish.
Plan The Steps Involved
It is advisable to number the steps. The steps for each goal are likely to differ in content and length.Think outside the box and try coming up with all the steps that can be involved.
Anticipate Obstacles
Anticipating potential problems will save you from becoming disheartened and giving up when you actually encounter them.Try to think of as many as you can for each and every goal that you have because they might differ from each goal.Jot them down. After this, think of the solutions for every potential obstacle that you have written down.
Make A Commitment
It would be good to keep reminding yourself the reason why you want to achieve your goal.If it means that you have to remove some of the things you enjoy doing from your schedule,do it, do not hesitate. You might even have to tell your family and friends so that they keep reminding you of your commitment and help you to keep it. Whatever happens, know that you alone are accountable for the end results.
An example to show these steps is this:
My goal is to learn Zulu before i go on the school trip in ten months time.
Steps involved
get a phrase book
learn at least ten new words every week
listen to other people talk
ask someone to help you with pronunciation
Potential Problems
There are no people close by who speak Zulu to help me with the pronunciation
Solution
Download Zulu audio files to help me.
Get Help
It is good to get help from others who have successfully achieved their goals on time.Compare the similarities between their goals and yours.Learn from their mistakes and be sure to not repeat them.Listen and do the helpful things they tell you.Tell family members and friends to help you prioritize your goals above all else.Accept when they give good advice.
Act
Start Immediately
When you have done all the steps above , do not linger around to start.Use the saying, ”do not wait till tomorrow to do what can be done today,” as your daily motto.Find out what you can do today to start working toward achieving your goal.Another thing that can help you to start acting quickly is remembering the dead lines of your goals. Also remind yourself why you are trying to achieve your goals now; their importance to you.
Work Hard
At times it will seem as if the process of achieving the goals is so long and you may feel ready to give up.However ,know that nothing comes easy and there is no happiness more than enjoying the fruits of your own hard work.No matter how hard it may get, never give up easily.Be determined to have the best results from your goals.
Flexibility
Make the process of reaching your goals flexible. At times you might to adjust your goals a little and not make the process to hard to follow. But make sure you do not totally change them.
Review Your Progress Regularly
At the end of each goal or step, put a tick to show that you have completed it.This will help you assess your progress, help you see where you are going wrong and where to correct.See if you are able to meet the dead line for the goals. If you see you are not able to meet with the dead line make sure you find out in which area you need to improve and if need might be you must change a negative attitude and view the goals as attainable.
a person ticking in a box to show that she has completed a step
Use Your Imagination
Try imagining yourself in the future, how you will be feeling when you know you have reached your goals and are then enjoying the benefits. You can also visualize yourself in the future, when you have not been able to accomplish any of your goals, or have only accomplished a few but less important ones.Imagine how you would feel when you see your friends who have been able to accomplish their goals. This will motivate you to keep on acting and following up with your goals.
a person meditating on what his future will be like
Advantages of having goals
Edward Locke and Gary Latham (1990) are leaders in goal-setting theory. According to their research, goals not only affect behavior as well as job performance, but they also help mobilize energy which leads to a higher effort overall. Higher effort leads to an increase in persistent effort.https://positivepsychology.com/benefits-goal-setting/.
Having goals gives direction in life-you will know what you are supposed to do at a given time.Much time is not lost doing unproductive things that will not help you in the future.Rather you are able to focus on the most important things. It also gives ample time to perfect our focuses.
If our goals are achieved we feel happy so they give us a sense of personal accomplishments. One will be able to be confident among other people when they know that they were able to accomplish something.
Goals give a sense of purpose in life, knowing that you have something to look forward to achieving.Ones life will not be as boring and without sense when they have something to look forward to everyday. The bigger the goal, the more satisfying your feeling of accomplishment on reaching it.
Our motivation is boosted when we reach or accomplish our goals. We will look forward to more goals and be confident we will be able to meet them successfully.
Setting goals does not mean planning every single minute of your life. There may be external unforeseen factors that may come between. Therefore allow for changes to take place when setting goals.
Can Goals Fail?
Yes, at times we might fail to accomplish our goals. However, never loose hope that all your planned goals will fail.Learn from that failed goal to better the ones to follow it. Take note of your mistakes as well as your strengths from the last goals.Use that to improve your coming goal projects.
Another reason why goals may fail is because we set unrealistic ones.Be sure that your goals are SMART(specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bounded).Your goal must be something you are equipped to do.Try not to make them based on the fact that it is something someone else did rather be sure you can accomplish them.
A person has to set goals that he can handle.Do not set too many goals at once that it becomes hard for you to act and keep track of them all.It is better to do a few and be able to accomplish them than to have lots and not be able to accomplish even one.
The definition of life is highly debatable probably due to the fact that it is looked at from many different angles including Religious, Philosophical and Biological. All these different fractions of study have their own definition of life which may or may not be similar to other definitions. Usually the purpose of the program or institution highly determines how they will define life. Generally though life can be defined as the state of living, the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death (according to the dictionary). Biologically, life an be defined as a self-sustaining chemical system capable of Darwinian evolution. This definition looks at life from a genetic point of view where it focuses mainly on the biological make up and reaction of the human body till the cells eventually die. Philosophically, life is defined as the aspect of existence that processes, acts, reacts, evaluates, and evolves through growth (reproduction and metabolism). Life is anything that grows and eventually dies. This definition, unlike the biological one focuses more on the physical aspect of life and less on the genetic make up of the human or living organism. Religiously however it is difficult to really define what life is, however in this institution life goes beyond the biological make up or physical make up of a person but rather it can also be referred to in terms of the soul of a human being which is a spiritual annotation, thus, religiously life is more than just how one develops, grows and eventually dies.
The purpose of life.
The answer to the purpose of life is not really an easy one because of the diversity of life itself as well as the diversity of what we as individual people consider life to be, our moral upbringing, religious views etc. However, i am going to try and look at the different institutions that exist and what i believe may be, according to them, the purpose of life.
Life biologically.
chromosomes (the part of a cell that carries genetic information)
According to biology, the purpose of life is to reproduce, passing on genetic information from us to our offspring so as to avoid extinction of the human race.Genetic evolution is the meaning of biologic life, in that it is the why and how of it, as well as the stock of future biological existence. The genes that survive — and in turn the organisms they make — are the winners in the existence game. Biology says that life began in the seas and moved onto the land and the continued existence of human beings from evolution up to this present generation is all because of reproduction therefore our existence here on earth is largely dependent on our ability to procreate and pass on our genes into the next generation. As humans develop we also learn a lot of survival tactics which may become imprinted in our DNA therefore ensuring that our offspring are also able to survive in the environment that we also survive in. To better understand this theory we can look at the example of plant seeds where some plants that are better able to survive in a certain environment are specially selected for that environment so that they ca grow and produce seeds with the same genetic information that the parent plant had and as such produce the desired result all due to the passing on of genetic information from parent to offspring. In human beings, a good example can be can be that of the African San people whose genetic makeup has not changed significantly over the past millennial years.Various Y chromosome studies show that the San carry some of the most divergent (oldest) human Y-chromosome haplogroups. Mitochondrial DNA studies also provide evidence that the San carry high frequencies of the earliest haplogroup branches in the human mitochondrial DNA tree. This DNA is inherited only from one’s mother. This then supports the Biologists’ view that genetic information is indeed passed from generation to generation and this could ultimately be the purpose of human life.
In as much as this biological purpose of life is true to some extent, it however limits the potential of a human being to exploit some of their characteristics or abilities such as perhaps their ability to love, to care for others etc even though these features cannot be biologically proven to exist within the human make up.
Life philosophically.
Philosophy takes the person as a rational being one capable of reason and as such assumes that the rational being is able to create his or her own purpose to life. It does not limit the purpose of existence to one broad plan but rather gives each individual an opportunity to rationally decide what they believe could be the purpose of their life here on earth. They associate the purpose of one’s life to things that bring satisfaction to the individual person whether it is selfish or self-sacrificing.
A happy person
To be happy. Philosophers have proposed that the purpose of life is for one to be happy. Doing the things that bring a sense of joy to one self is considered a purpose because arguably speaking one cannot say they are fulfilling their purpose by doing something that brings sorrow and pain into their lives especially if that purpose is self given. Thus this school of thought proposes that life is supposed to be happy. (Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” – Denis Waitley).
people in love.
To love. Philosophers also believe that loving can be a purpose of life. This point integrates religion and philosophy as both institutions agree that to love is indeed the greatest purpose of life although philosophy does not incorporate a Deity into this notion. Love brings about peace in a world that is undoubtedly full of suffering. When one loves others unconditionally, they begin to see the world in a magical way, a very positive way that brings peace to the individual and also spreads positive energy to those around them and this in itself can bring happiness into one’s life. Love seems to be a healing agent to human suffering and something that connects us across time and culture.
A woman crying.
To find something important enough to justify suffering. Every institution that has ever existed on this earth acknowledges the fact that suffering is a huge part of human existence. Most people however find it very difficult to understand this simple fact and thus end up questioning why people suffer and what real purpose there is to life if we are meant to suffer. However, philosophy suggests that we as humans give meaning to our suffering by finding something important enough to suffer for, a mother endures labor pain because she knows that the child she is bringing into this life is far more important than any suffering she has to go through, so she endures. That’s equally the same with every other situation in life. Our purpose is to find something important enough to endure pain for and in that way we feel a sense of satisfaction and control over our lives. “If there is meaning in life at all, then there must be meaning in suffering.” – Viktor Frankl
So philosophically, the purpose of life is highly dependent on the individual human person because according to them, each human person has a unique purpose here on earth and all that encompasses love, happiness and fulfillment.
Life Religiously.
Ultimately, the purpose of life religiously is to do the will of God the creator, in order to go to heaven. Religion approaches the purpose of existence in a less rational way and applies faith in this regard, to them life begins and ends in God thus we all have a duty to do that which pleases Him and follow his law and will for our existence. Some people would then argue that it is difficult to know the will of a deity whom one cannot see or hear speaks, however religious institutions respond to this by making reference to their holy books as sources of all of God’s plan and will for us. To them therefore, the purpose of life is found in scripture:
Ultimately there is no wrong or correct answer in relation to the purpose of life. The answer is largely a personal one depending on each individual’s inner convictions and beliefs. Our life is what what we believe it to be and the highest purpose of life is to live, the how part is one that we each have to answer in our own different way. Whether religious, biological or philosophical,we all have a purpose that drives us each and every day so that we continue living.
An inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action, or behavior (such as a religious practice or a social custom). A tradition is a belief or behavior (folk custom) passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance with origins in the past.[ There are many different examples of traditions throughout the world for example folktales, dressing, certain behaviors, language, practices, myths etc. These are handed down from generation to generation through observation, story telling and formal education within the family or society. Some people take advantage of even meal times to teach their young about their traditions (When we gather to eat, we not only nourish the body, but we also feed the soul). This handing down is done so that the young people can grow with a sense of belonging, understanding why certain things are done and also to be able to continue upholding their family or society’s tradition by passing it on to future generations.
Modernization.
It refers to a particular era in human history. It is an era characterized by scientific thought (rather than metaphysical or supernatural belief), individualism, a focus on industrialization and technical development and a rejection of some traditional values. Modernization, in social sciences terminology, is the process by which a country moves from having a traditional, agrarian, rural society to having a more secular, urbanized, industrialized (or even post-industrial) society. This concept is different from tradition in the sense that it does not accept the existence of certain aspects that the traditional world acknowledges for instance the supernatural realm and certain core values of tradition such as dressing, language etc. From the onset the aspect of modernity diverges from the path of tradition although the two can at times agree in certain areas. Modernity embraces the issues of individualism, competition etc all of which go against most African traditions.
In the contemporary society, these two aspects have become a big cause of conflict among different African societies. Both are being practiced parallel to each other and as a result, causing confusion within society. The young don’t know which path to take and because our tradition is being given to them half baked ,they have totally lost focus as to what to do and what not to do, they have no one to ask and have become subject thus to peer pressure and peer advise some of which may be very misleading.
Impact of modernization on a traditional society.
In as much as most of these impacts may be negative, one should not dismiss the fact that there are also positive impacts of this co-existence which may be expanded if people commit to bringing a change to our society. However as it stands the impact remains highly negative especially on the younger generation as shall be noted.
A Traditional African family
Destruction of family ties or structures. In a typical traditional African society, the family comprised of a number of individuals, ranging from grandparents, aunts, uncles, father, mother, children etc sometimes the “sahwira” is also regarded as part of that family in some sense. This was especially important in terms of eradicating poverty by taking care of widows, orphans and the vulnerable in society, ensuring respect is cultivated in the young as they respected most elders as their relatives and also ensuring the passing on of certain values and cultural traditions within the members of society. In the African community, a man had the obligation to cater for the widow and orphans of his deceased relative(Kanu 2010). However, modernization has brought about the destruction of these family ties and structures where the family is now only limited to the now termed “nuclear” family comprising of mother, father and children. This has largely destroyed the fundamental traditions held dear by the African society and has disrupted the passing on of important traditional aspect such as the role of the aunt in the children of her brothers especially in terms of sexuality and the sacredness of the body. Respect for elders has also been eradicated as most youths are growing up without proper exposure to their extended family members thus they find it difficult to respect people with whom they have no strong ties. Observation has revealed that most youths actually no longer have an understanding of their tradition due to less exposure to elderly members of society.
Language dilution.Proficiency in our language is declining in Africa because we are compelled to embrace Western culture and civilization as Western language. Modern Africans have begun to embrace foreign languages at the expense of their traditional languages all in the name of modernization. It has become a symbol of intellectual intelligence for one who fluently speaks foreign languages and is largely less accustomed to his or her local languages and this has made our African languages inferior to those of other countries or continents.
Religion. The religious practices of the African people where closely linked to the way they lived in society thus to them their religion was more like a way of life rather than an act of worship. They believed in a diverse spiritual realm that coexisted with them here on earth although they could not see these spiritual beings. Their religion was in the center of almost everything that they did and they believed in a God that was just and could administer punishment fairly. They had spirit mediums, sacred places and objects all of which helped during their acts of worship. The morals and the institutions of the society are thought to have been given by God, or to be sanctioned ultimately by him. Therefore, any breach of such morals is an offense against the departed members of the family, and against God or the spirits, even if it is the people themselves who may suffer from such a breach and who may take action to punish the offender. (J.S. Mbiti). These religious views have been proven to be shared sentiments among other religions brought to Africa by modernization and of great significance Christianity. However the introduction of such religions has led to the eradication of most African religious customs which were an integral part of their tradition, for instance certain burial rites, birth rites etc which are deemed demonic by some of these religions. This thus provides a serious challenge for the modern African as they are in between two religious practices that usually do not co-exist. This is mainly because each and every African is somehow linked to the traditional way of behaving and is also trying to integrate a new practice or religion into an already ordered society.
Traditional religious leader at a shrine.
Cultural dilution.Culture as defined as the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a particular people or society has been largely affected by modernization, particularly in terms of dressing and behavior. The African way of dressing is largely influenced by their values and norms which advocate for decency in dressing whether one is male or female. This in turn means that the audience one is to face has a large impact on how they are supposed to dress, and even if the audience is not that respected one still has to dress decently, avoiding exposing their bodies according to the African context. This has however been disturbed by the modern world view were all kinds of fashion trends have been introduced thus making it difficult for one to maintain the decent dressing encouraged by our tradition. One fears feeling out of place or being mocked by peers for dressing like an ‘old’ person especially among the young people. This peer pressure can therefore influence greatly cultural decay within society.
Zulu cultural dressing rarely worn nowadays.
In line with cultural dilution, Africans have begun to embrace certain cultural practices that where largely considered vices within the African context. Examples of these include homosexuality (a practice that has become rather normal within some African countries), incest (though less popular, but the fact that totems are being disregarded makes it a common practice among Africans nowadays), abortions (an act that was considered a crime by African traditional law is now being legalized in some African countries) and many other practices and behaviors not in sink with the African way of life. Some sources say that, an estimated 70,000+ illegal abortions are performed in Zimbabwe each year, resulting in around 20,000 maternal deaths. This is just an example of the cultural disorientation happening in some African countries and the rate at which it is being practiced is rather frightening. Debate also has occurred throughout Africa over proposals to legalize same-sex marriage as well as civil unions. Although these issues have not been legally approved the fact that talk of it is becoming louder suggests that it is slowly creeping into the African way of life.
The modern society has produced a society of traditionally illiterate people who are largely self-centered, corrupt, disrespectful to sacred places, people and objects. A generation that knows almost nothing about their practices and how to deal with certain issues and problems.A generation of people who are slowly becoming morally decayed and losing their culture and identity. Irregardless of this, the elderly within the African community continue to emphasis that no matter how many people turn their backs on the African tradition, one remains an African whether active or inactive and what influences an African child will always influence an African child.
In as much as it has been highlighted that modernization is highly eroding the tradition of the African, it should however be noted that there are also positive effects of this development within the African society. For instance accepting abortion where the child or the mother’s life is at risk is a practice within the African society that has been enhanced by modernization through machinery that can easily detect danger on the part of the mother or the fetus during pregnancy thus eliminating it before the danger increases. Also the idea of democracy was introduced from modernization and is highly positive as it allows everyone’s voice to be heard in any situation.
Modernization actually has impacted largely on the lives of Traditional Africa, as it has brought about a lot of changes some of which have been noted above both positive and negative. One thus has to weigh the pros and cons of each new development so as to consider whether its worth it to adopt or whether the traditional way is actually better.

Over and above everything else, one should first of all be motivated to study before you actually sit down to read your books. A student is usually motivated by their goals in life either short term or long term for instance what level you wish to attain probably in the next academic year or probably what career path you wish to pursue as a long term goal. Other factors such as your role models, family members and friends can also be motivating factors for one to study hard and successfully. This is therefore the first and most important study tip to follow since without motivation, one is likely to study in vain.

how to study successfully.
Know your study habits. many students have a tendency of giving in to external pressures for instance “my friends are studying late at night, early in the morning or during the whole day so i have to do the same.” this however may just be a waste of time if your study habit is different from theirs because our minds have different rates and concentration times of which we should be aware of to be able to study successfully. if you are an early bird, make sure you wake up early, read your books and when you feel its enough rest. Some people are night owls while some people prefer the morning.
Create a conducive learning and reading environment. it is important to make sure that your reading environment is one that allows you to keep your concentration levels very high, avoiding any distractions . For instance if you are an Arts student and you want to maximize your reading time, then its advisable to read in a quiet environment, without too many noises or voices such that you concentrate on what you are reading and internalize it. also if you are in the Commercial field, its recommended to use a little bit of music to avoid boredom and also external distractions.
Plan your work. Make sure you know the subject and topic or topics you are supposed to study at a given time including the time you should take on each subject or topic to avoid neglecting other subjects and topics. You may want to integrate some topics, its still cool, write them down on your study time table and make sure you stick to it. Avoid frequent review of the planned reading schedule as it might disturb your focus trend.
Evaluation. After a certain topic or number of pages, allow yourself time to evaluate what you have read by asking yourself questions like, ” what is the topic about?”, formulas read, quotes etc. you can also jot down what you would have read just to make sure that you are not running down the lines. However don’t punish yourself for failing to answer a question or failing to recall what you would have read, take the opportunity rather as a pointer that you may have missed some points as you were reading and revisit them or make an appointment to revisit them in your next study session.
Rest. It is important to know the time frame that your brain can focus continuously such that you can take short breaks in between your study. normally people take a break after thirty minutes of continuous study to revive your brain and relax your eyes and if possible try and evaluate what you would have read as you relax. If you try to force yourself to study for too long in one sitting, you’ll soon start to nod off.
Snack or brain food. At regular intervals, you may have some snacks so as to make sure you keep awake and also motivate your brain to continue working. However make sure you avoid heavy meals during you study time as it may distract your brain from focusing. It is advisable that you have enough food before you begin your reading session so that your brain has enough energy to pull through the study session. Also, after your session, be sure to have another meal.
Simplify study notes. Make studying less overwhelming by condensing notes from class. Highlight words, create charts or outlines to simplify information as well as organize it thus helping you to remember better. You can also write down short questions in order to help you remember what you where studying.
Vocalize to memorize. when trying to memorize important information, say it out loud. Study says saying information out loud helps to move it to your long term memory. Thus it is important that when you use this study technique, you avoid distracting others who may be doing their own work which means you need to be in an isolated environment or at least a distance from others to avoid disturbing them as you vocalize.
Make use of study groups. isolated study is very useful but it is important to also take some time to study as groups so as to hear other students’ views on certain topics. it could be that you missed some parts while you where studying alone thus study groups help you to identify these missed areas. its also good because one gets the opportunity to test how much they are understanding by explaining to others what you would have read as well as answering and also asking questions for clarity.
Write down notes in pen. when using the internet or a laptop to study, it is very important that you take down notes in pen. This helps you to better grasp what you are reading as it, according to some, sends signals to the brain of the information that you are writing down thus you can be sure that the information you write down sticks in your brain.
Don’t give in to external pressure. Lets say you are studying for an exam, and probably you are a bit late in your preparations. Don’t allow yourself to be pressurized by the progress of other students. Calm down, plan your work in such a way that allows you to be able to meet your target and be ready by the time the exam arrives.Read calmly, making sure you internalize your work and make use of the above tips in terms of knowing your study habits, vocalizing notes as well as study groups. These help particularly in the event of late preparation for an exams
Avoid using stimulants, such as caffeine or nicotine to help you focus. Many students believe that these drugs can help them stay awake so as to maximize their study time. This is however a very dangerous habit as it may lead to addiction and also you may feel like you are really studying but at the end your brain will not be taking in any of the content yu will be studying thus besides the health effects, you would not have done anything productive in relation to your study. An additional factor is that if you see yourself unable to pull through the night without the use of any caffeine then you are probably on the wrong track in as much as knowing your study habit is concerned. Therefore instead of using caffeine or nicotine, try changing your study habit, i guarantee you will see a great improvement in your study.
Revisit areas already studied. This is very important as it enables you to jog your memory as well as see whether you did not cram the material you studied earlier. You don’t necessarily have to re-read the whole topic or chapter, you can make use of study questions or even set a small test in relation to the topics you want to revisit. Keep the intervals short at first, then gradually increase them. For example, if you studied something one day, sleep on it and do a little review the next day. Test yourself a couple days later, and then again a week after that.
students having a group discussion.
Take maximum advantage of the time you have to study.
Although the are many recipes to success, the surest way of making sure that you indeed succeed is by studying, motivating yourself to actually want to study, knowing your study habits, planning your work or study timetable, evaluating what you would have read, resting, vocalizing notes and making use of study groups among other factors mentioned above. These will help in making sure that you actually study to the bets of your ability and succeed in your exams and life. The list of tips is endless but this is a very good starting point.Happy studying.
Remember when the Minister of Finance Announced that he will be seeking a way to tax businesses on Facebook, Amazon and Twitter? Well, he was not joking. In an email addressed to all Zimbabwean Business Accounts, Facebook wrote,
Due to implementation of a value-added tax (VAT) in Zimbabwe, Facebook is required to charge VAT on the sale of ads to all advertisers in Zimbabwe. All advertisers with a business country of Zimbabwe will be charged an additional 14.5% VAT on advertising services purchased on or after September 1, 2020.
You don’t have to enter a Zimbabwe Tax ID. However, if you’re registered for VAT and provide your Tax ID, your Tax ID will show up on your ads receipts. This may help you recover any VAT you paid to Zimbabwe tax authorities if you are a VAT registered business in Zimbabwe.
This might just be the beginning. Eventually we may have Google Ads tax as well, it is a matter of time. Now will be a good time to add your tax details to facebook,

Web hosting in Zimbabwe is taking on the International Brand names.
Blogs…. Custom Emails…. Domain names…. Websites….
That pretty much is web hosting.
In Zimbabwe, we are always too late to catch up with the rest of the world. Literally everything comes from The United States, Europe, India or China and by the time a good service (like Paypal) or a good product (like Spotify) reached Zim- there is already something new! This has made us play catch up- all the time.
Thanks to the internet, things are changing. Even though the internet penetration in Zimbabwe is just 40% according to Wikipedia, (Contrast that to South Africa’s 71.4% at this time of writing) we are now able to catch on trends faster. Big Win for us!
Is it?
Well, it depends with who you are. As a consumer- you win because you have access to top of the ranch products and services, as a startup owner- that is extra sleepless nights for you because if you don’t innovate fast enough then Silicon Valley is going to kill you.
I am involved with a Web Service Company in Zimbawe- Tremhost and it has been a battlefield. As a local web services company we are always finding ourselves locking horns or frankly- being whipped by big industry companies like GoDaddy and Hostgator. Take this comparison for instance- Godaddy was founded in 1999 while Tremhost was founded in 2016. That is a huge age gap. But does it matter?
Yes and No.
Yes, it matters because time is a good teacher. The sooner you get to 10 000 hours the better chance you are at being a master. GoDaddy had years of trying and failing and figuring out what works and what doesnt.
No, technology changes and being first in the game means nothing when 6 months later there is better and faster technology. Godaddy may have an age advantage but local companies have a time advantage. Yeah age and time amounts to the same thing so how is time an advantage?
The tech sector is fast paced. The innovation is furious and more decentralized than ever before. Age will not help you if a tech company comes under the radar and has better customer service and better product- efficiency. Ask BlockBuster and Yahoo!
Better Customer Service…. Better Product.
Better Customer Service…. Better Product.
This is the only way to win customers.
Web Hosting in Zimbabwe has improved so dramatically that local companies are now scooping international users. Even though they started yesterday compared to the Hostgator and Bluehost- Web hosting companies in Zimbabwe now have impressive customer service and good products- thanks to AWS and Azure we now have the same resources to rival International companies.
I know that most people look down on local companies in general. Maybe there is justification to that but where I come from- tiri kuchimyanya.
Do not hesitate to use web hosting companies in Zimbabwe. They are just as good as international companies.
