Websites, email and security for Zimbabwean NGOs and charities

Websites, email and security for Zimbabwean NGOs and charities.

A website donors and communities can trust, email on your own domain, and protection for the data you hold on beneficiaries; supported locally, invoiced in USD, and priced to fit a project budget.

NGOs and charities need the same technology as any organisation, on tighter budgets and with more scrutiny from donors. Tremhost builds NGO websites, hosts email and systems, and protects them from attack for civil society organisations, foundations, humanitarian agencies, community-based organisations and donor-funded projects across Zimbabwe.

If your organisation works in human rights, civil society, journalism or democracy and is likely to be targeted online, you may qualify for Cloudflare’s Project Galileo, which gives eligible organisations Business-level website protection for free. We’ll tell you if you’re likely to qualify and help with the application; and if you are accepted, we can manage the setup for you.

Why NGOs & Nonprofits Choose Tremhost

NGOs often hold sensitive information- health status, identity documents, locations of vulnerable people. Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act treats health data as sensitive, requires notifying POTRAZ before transferring personal data outside Zimbabwe, and requires reporting a breach to POTRAZ within 24 hours of becoming aware of it. We will tell you in writing where your data will be hosted and set up access controls, encryption, and backups to support those duties.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

1. How much does an NGO website cost?
Our website design plans include design, hosting, SSL and email in one annual fee. For a donor-funded project we'll send a line-item quotation you can put straight into the budget.
2. Do you offer nonprofit discounts?
We price per project; tell us your budget and we'll recommend what fits.
3. Can you provide quotations and invoices our donor will accept?
Yes. You receive formal quotations and USD invoices from Tremhost Pvt Ltd, a registered Zimbabwean company.
4. Can we pay for the whole grant period up front?
Yes, annually or for the full project term, so the cost sits in one budget line.
5. Can our NGO get Cloudflare protection for free?
Possibly. Cloudflare's Project Galileo protects eligible public-interest organisations - human rights, civil society, journalism and democracy groups at risk of attack - at no cost. We'll assess whether you're likely to qualify and help you apply.
6. What happens to our website and email when a project ends?
They stay yours. Your domain, content and email belong to your organisation; you can renew, move them to another programme, or transfer them to another provider.
7. Where is our data hosted?
We put it in writing before we start, so you know whether a cross-border notification to POTRAZ is needed.
8. Can staff in field offices use the same systems?
Yes. Email works on any phone or laptop, and systems can be hosted so field teams reach them securely over mobile data. For several offices, see Armor Network.
9. Which organisations do you work with?
Banks and microfinance institutions, insurers, telecoms and ISPs, government ministries and parastatals, universities, mining houses, NGOs, e-commerce and fintech — anyone whose website, APIs or staff access carry real money or regulated data.
