Telone vs ZOL vs Powertel: Battle of Wifi in Zimbabwe

Zimbabweans are in a race to find the best wifi provider. With each of Zimbabwe’s three major telcos launching their own internet solutions, it’s hard to know which is worth your money. Let’s break down the pros and cons of Telone, ZOL and Powertel’s wifi offerings so that you can make an informed decision on what’s right for you.

Telone

Telone is a good option if you want to save money on your internet. They have a decent network and their customer service is better than ZOL or Powertel’s. However, their wifi experience isn’t as good as ZOL’s because they don’t offer the same speeds at all times of the day.

ZOL

ZOL is the best wifi in Zimbabwe. It has the fastest internet and is also the most reliable, with no downtime for over a year now.

ZOL offers unlimited data at affordable prices, starting at $0.50 per day for 1GB of data and going up to $2/day for 10GB of data (for those who need more). They also have an unlimited plan that costs $6/month but only applies to browsing on their mobile app; if you want to use your computer or tablet too, it will cost extra at $8 per month for 2 devices. ZOL offers great value for money when it comes to browsing speeds too – their average speed is 3mbps which puts them ahead of other providers like Powertel or Telone whose average speeds range between 0-1mbps!

Powertel

Powertel is a relatively new entrant in the Zimbabwean telecoms market. The company offers wifi hotspots at various locations in Harare, including malls and airports. Powertel’s hotspots are available at the following locations:

  • Mbare Musika Shopping Centre (Harare)
  • Chitungwiza Shopping Centre (Chitungwiza)
  • Rainbow Towers Mall (Harare)

In addition to these three major hubs, you can also find Powertel wifi hotspots at other retail outlets such as Spar Supermarket and Pick n Pay Hypermarket branches.
