To do this, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\/welcome\">https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\/welcome<\/a>.<\/div>\n<h4 id=\"Verifying-site-ownership\">Verifying site ownership<\/h4>\n<p>There are several methods you can use to verify site ownership with Google.<\/p>\n<div class=\"msg-box note\">You only need to use\u00a0<strong>one<\/strong>\u00a0of the following methods. You do not need to follow\u00a0all of them.<\/div>\n<h5 id=\"Method-1.3A-HTML-file-upload\">Method #1: HTML file upload<\/h5>\n<p>You can upload a special\u00a0HTML file to your site to verify site ownership. For information about how to do this, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080#zippy=,html-file-upload\">https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080#zippy=,html-file-upload<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"Method-2.3A-HTML-tag\">Method #2: HTML tag<\/h5>\n<p>You can include a special\u00a0<em>&lt;meta&gt;<\/em>\u00a0HTML tag in a specific site page\u00a0to verify site ownership. For information about how to do this, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080#zippy=,html-tag\">https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080#zippy=,html-tag<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"Method-3.3A-DNSrecord\">Method #3: DNS\u00a0record<\/h5>\n<p>You can add a\u00a0<strong>TXT<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>CNAME<\/strong>\u00a0DNS record\u00a0to verify site ownership:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a\u00a0<strong>CNAME<\/strong>\u00a0record to verify a subdomain (for example,\u00a0<em>test.example.com<\/em>),\u00a0or a\u00a0domain that is itself defined\u00a0with a CNAME record.<\/li>\n<li>Use a\u00a0<strong>TXT<\/strong>\u00a0record to verify any other type of domain, such as your primary domain\u00a0(for example,\u00a0<em>example.com<\/em>). This is the more common scenario, and is described below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To add a TXT record in cPanel, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to cPanel.\n<div class=\"note msg-box\">If you do not know how to log in to your cPanel account, please see\u00a0this article.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">DOMAINS<\/span>\u00a0section of the cPanel home screen, click\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">Zone Editor<\/span>:<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.a2hosting.com\/images\/uploads\/knowledgebase_images\/kb-cpanel-domains-zone-editor.png\" alt=\"cPanel - Domains - Zone Editor icon\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">DOMAINS<\/span>, locate the domain for which you want to add the TXT\u00a0record, and then click\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">Manage<\/span>:<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.a2hosting.com\/images\/uploads\/knowledgebase_images\/kb-cpanel-domains-zone-editor-manage-domain.png\" alt=\"cPanel - Zone Editor - Manage domain\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Next to\u00a0<span class=\"button\">Add Record<\/span>, click the down arrow, and then click\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">Add \u201cTXT\u201d Record<\/span>:<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.a2hosting.com\/images\/uploads\/knowledgebase_images\/kb-cpanel-domains-zone-editor-add-record.png\" alt=\"cPanel - Zone Editor - Add record\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<span class=\"textbox\">Name<\/span>\u00a0text box, type the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) for the record (for example,\u00a0<em>example.com<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<span class=\"textbox\">TTL<\/span>\u00a0text box, type the time-to-live value in seconds.\n<div class=\"note msg-box\">If you are unsure of the value to specify, type\u00a0<span class=\"user-input\">14400<\/span>, which is four hours.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that the\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">Type<\/span>\u00a0list box is set to\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">TXT<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<span class=\"textbox\">Record<\/span>\u00a0text box, paste\u00a0the unique TXT record value that Google Search Console displays for your account.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<span class=\"button\">Add Record<\/span>. cPanel adds the record.<\/li>\n<li>In Google Search Console, click\u00a0<span class=\"UI\">Verify<\/span>. Google checks that the unique value matches the TXT record.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5 id=\"Method-4.3A-Google-Analytics-tracking-ID\">Method #4: Google Analytics tracking ID<\/h5>\n<p>You can use Google Analytics to verify site ownership. To use this method, you must\u00a0have a Google Analytics account configured. By including\u00a0your unique\u00a0tracking ID in your website pages, you prove that you control the site.
